NLPD Golf Society

Golf is the gold standard exercise for Parkinson's - promoting balance & coordination whilst maintaining muscle strength and encouraging mobility and socialising.

Northern Lights Golf Society has everything you need to start taking part in this fantastically uplifting activity. We are a lottery funded charity dedicated to supporting Parkinson's golfers of all abilities. We are a social group where you will encounter the friendly support & encouragement of like minded players who understand the challenges we face

Well done to all participants in the annual beginners golf tournament which took place at Aintree Golf Centre on Thursday 21st September 2023. The players involved were Steve A, Tracy R, Keith Mc, John T & Rod H & a special thanks to Brendan O for organising & guiding us through the event. We had a putting challenge, the longest drive & nearest the pin. The overall winner was Keith Mc!

NLPD Golf Society Open 2023

Our inaugural NLPD Golf Society

Open tournament took place at Bowring Park in Liverpool. John E is the first winner of the 'Ted Roche' trophy, Ray W won the longest drive and Craig M won the nearest the pin award. Well done to everyone who took part.

Unfortunately, the beginners tournament planned for Thursday 27th July in Warrington was postponed due to the rain. It will be rescheduled.

Golf Quiz Night

The NLPD golf quiz night was a big success, thanks to Brendan O' & his team of helpers, they raised over £600! We had a great venue at the Big Bog Brewery in Speke, Liverpool & we enjoyed a photo quiz round, then 4 rounds of quiz questions, Irish 'Sit Down Bingo', super raffle prizes and a prize for best team name, which went to Peter C's 'Couldn't be ar*ed!' team!

The evening was well presented by Bren and MC Richard C & everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable night.

Recently, we got together at the Formby Golf Centre to have a go at the 9 hole pitch & putt. WE had 2 groups of players and Brendan was the winner with the lowest score.
